Liberal Arts/Transfer & Undecided majors
If you’re planning to transfer your ECC credits to complete a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university, you’re definitely in the majority! Nearly 80% of our students earn a Liberal Arts/Transfer Associate in Arts (AA) degree because they’re assured that the credits will transfer easily to nearly all Iowa colleges and universities, as well as many other institutions in the Midwest. And it’s the perfect degree for those who are undecided, because sticking to the AA degree checklist of courses ensures that none of your time and effort (and money) will be wasted.
Dual Enrollment with Iowa, Iowa State and UNI
Ellsworth Community College has agreements in place so that any of our students enrolled in the Liberal Arts/Transfer AA degree program can also be dual enrolled with the University of Iowa, Iowa State University, or the University of Northern Iowa. This means these dual-enrolled ECC students are also considered full-time Iowa, Iowa State or UNI students … they’re assigned an academic advisor and have access to all the same perks and benefits as the other university students (bookstore, library, student services, student activities, athletic events, and more). An ECC Admissions Office representative can tell you how to take advantage of this great opportunity. There’s more information online at http://www.iavalley.edu/ecc/careers_degrees/transfer_regent.html.
Transferring to other colleges and universities
ECC also has articulation agreements with many other colleges and universities, several of which are listed on our website at http://www.iavalley.edu/ecc/careers_degrees/transfer_other.html. If you want to transfer your credits and degree to one of these institutions, just follow the link on the website. If you want to transfer to a college or university that’s not listed here, please contact the ECC Dean of Instruction for assistance.
