Career
Physicians prevent, diagnose and treat disorders, diseases and injuries. There are many fields of specialty available in the medical field, but most physicians work in primary care, which includes internal medicine, general, and family practice, and pediatrics.
Job outlook
As the health care industry continues to expand, employment of physicians and surgeons is expected to grow about as fast as average for all occupations through 2016. The growing and aging population will also increase the need for more physicians.
