Iowa Valley contracts “Heavenly’s” for Equestrian Center concessions
If the free admission wasn’t enough of an enticement for the public to attend shows and events at the Ellsworth Equestrian Center just south of Iowa Falls on Highway 65, now there’s one more … “Heavenly” concessions!
Iowa Valley Community College District has approved a one-year agreement with “Heavenly’s: A Creative Bakery” to provide concession services at the Ellsworth Equestrian Center. The bakery has been providing concessions since August, and has received great reviews on their menu and service.
“I am excited that Heavenly’s Bakery will be our new food service provider at the Equestrian Center for our horse shows and other rental events,” says Joe Humphrey, Equine Facility & Event Coordinator. “They have a reputation for great food and variety, and their service is always top-notch. I look forward to the new partnership with them and expanding the food service to our event goers.”
Heavenly’s owners Jason and Julie Bolhuis say they’re excited about getting involved with the college, encouraging attendance at the Equestrian Center events, and supporting the college-community connection. “We have a good staff at the bakery, which allows us to branch out and provide this additional service,” says Julie. “We couldn’t have done it a couple of years ago, but now it works!”
Their Equestrian Center menu includes breakfasts, lunches, snacks and beverages. Their bakery items (cinnamon rolls, brownies, cookies, etc.) are a big hit, as are the candy and Blue Bunny ice cream products. Breakfast items include eggs, hashbrowns, toast, biscuits and gravy, and more. The lunches include burgers and sandwiches served with sides of potato salad, pasta salad, coleslaw, baked beans and chips. Walking tacos are also a popular item.
“We want to see more community people at the Equestrian Center events, and we’ll give you a good meal while you’re here,” says Julie. “Let’s fill the stands!”
