The MCC Class of 2013 includes 403 graduate applicants; 68 who completed their coursework in the fall of 2012, and 335 who intend to complete in the spring/summer.</description>

<title>Cast announced for Orpheum's summer mystery musical</title>

<description>There is definitely something afoot at the IVCCD Orpheum Theater Center these days. The Orpheum is done with auditions and has just finished casting this summer's feature production, Something's Afoot, a murder mystery musical set for June 21-30. The musical is based on And Then There Were None (a.k.a. Ten Little Indians) and will use automated special effects to portray the mystery and the magic of a typical Agatha Christie 'whodunnit'.</description>

<title>Sophomore class leaves mark on MCC soccer program</title>

<description>The Marshalltown Community College soccer team has had great success the past two years and a lot of that has to do with this group of graduating sophomores. These players saw their team reach 26 victories in two years at MCC, and were nationally ranked at the end of both seasons (No. 20 in 2011 and No. 11 in 2012). This year the Tigers won the Region XI championship, finishing fifth at the 2012 National Tournament.</description>

<title>IVCCD moves forward with Internationalization Plan</title>

<description>Over the past several months, Iowa Valley Community College District has been exploring new ways to further its internationalization efforts to benefit Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Marshalltown Community College, and Iowa Valley Grinnell. An Internationalization Task Force, consisting of faculty, administration and staff from all campuses, has drafted a Comprehensive Internationalization Plan with strategies to enhance the international education opportunities for students. The plan includes developing education abroad opportunities for students and exchange opportunities for faculty, increasing the presence of international students and underrepresented minority students on the campuses, promoting cultural competency, and building a supportive and inclusive climate in which all faculty, staff, and students can thrive.</description>

<description>The Perfect Setting of Marshalltown presents Charlotte's Web this weekend as it becomes the first member of the new Orpheum Marquee Club at the IVCCD Orpheum Theater Center. The Marquee Club allows local businesses such as The Perfect Setting, a unique advertising opportunity by sponsoring a movie shown at the Orpheum Theater Center. Only in Marshalltown can businesses get their name in lights for seven days on the Main Street marquee. Local business were sent information on the Marquee Club last week inviting them to take advantage of this Marshalltown only advertising opportunity while at the same time supporting a community cause for affordable entertainment for families and seniors.</description>

A maximum of two students per campus are nominated each year and are honored for their outstanding academic achievements and leadership by Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges. Both students are members of MCC's Alpha Iota Rho Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.</description>
