Ethics in Sport: Current Issues in Coaching                         

This online course is part of the Coaching Authorization courses. During this online Moodle course Ethics in Sport: Current Issues in Coaching, explore the meaning of sport from a historical perspective and the purpose of sport participation today, examine contemporary issues in sport, including legal considerations and State of Iowa requirements, with an emphasis on interscholastic sport, and provide a foundation for self-examination of one’s philosophy of sport and how that impacts decision making for a coach. This workshop will be delivered through Moodle, an eLearning platform that is best displayed Firefox or Internet Explorer 8. The Safari, Google Chrome, and Opera browsers have limited capabilities in Moodle, and the use of an iPad or mobile device is not recommended. You will need Flash Player, a free plug-in that comes standard in most browsers and can be downloaded at http://get.adobe.com/
flashplayer/. Highspeed internet recommended and email address required with registration. Registration/payment deadline is 4-4-13.
