Driving Unimpaired (DUI)
This is the course authorized by the state of Iowa for drinking drivers. Each participant will develop an individual risk-reduction plan. This 12-hour class satisfies Iowa drinking violation court orders. Marshalltown classes meet Fri. 6 - 10 pm and Sat. 8 am - 4 pm. Iowa Falls classes meet Sat. and Sun. 8 am - 2 pm.

Moped Safety
This class will teach moped drivers the “rules of the road ”by being a safe moped operator. It is taught by a certified instructor and required of anyone under 16 wanting a moped license. Student needs to be a minimum of 14 years old or within 6 months prior of 14th birth date.

Motorcycle Rider Education
Driving defensively, handling emergencies, and riding safely and skillfully are taught in this hands-on motorcycle education course for ages 14 to adult. Anyone under 18 must take this course to get a motorcycle license. Class time: Fri., 5-9 pm. Range time will be Sat., 8 am-5 pm, and Sun., 8 am-noon or until all are finished. 100% attendance is required at the whole class to receive your certificate and card. The class includes classroom time, riding exercises on the range, and evaluation components. You must score 80% or higher on the written test and be proficient in skills to pass the course. You must wear a long sleeve shirt and depending on the weather, a jacket or coat, long pants or jeans, shoes or boots that cover your ankles and gloves with fingers. We will provide the motorcycle, helmet, eye wear and some gloves are available if you don’t have any. You can bring your own helmet if you wish. You must bring to class: your driver’s license, social security number, and if you are under age 18 you must bring the Motorcycle Safety Course Waiver and Indemnification form signed by a parent or legal guardian to class on Friday evening. Payment is required at the time of registration and registration deadline is one week prior to the first class session. No refunds are granted after the registration deadline. Students that do not have the required clothing, driver’s license, and if under age 18 the Motorcycle Safety Course Waiver signed by parent or guardian will be dropped from class and no refund granted.

Professional Truck Driver Prep Program
This is an intense, 3-week program, designed to prepare you for employment driving a commercial motor vehicle, either locally or with an over-the-road trucking company. The course provides practical real-world experience using a variety of tractor/trailer rigs. Equipment is all late model and includes, day-cab, sleepers, single and tandem axel, with a variety of transmissions. The program is 160 hours in length and is the perfect blend of classroom, practice range and driving covering all aspects of safety, rules and regulations, and handling a big rig. Additional endorsements possible include Doubles/Triples, Tanker and Haz Mat. The program can accommodate both in-state and out-of-state residents. June 10-15 is required attendance at NIACC in Mason City. Students responsible for own expenses transportation, travel, lodging, meals, etc while in Mason City. Course approved for GAP funding. Requirement for entry: DOT Physical and Drug Screen; Show successful completion from Driver’s License Station of three written tests: General Knowledge, Air Brakes, Combination Vehicle; Current CDL Learners Permit; no serious traffic violations; Age requirements minimum: 18 years old to obtain a Class A CDL, 21 years old (for inter-state driving)
