How to be accepted to MCC in 3 easy steps!
In addition to these requirements, there are several other steps you may find helpful including financial aid applications, visiting the college, and career advising.
Need more info? Students intending to complete a diploma or degree program are required to submit high school or GED transcripts. Students applying for financial aid must have a high school or GED transcript on file in the Admissions Office.
Students who want to take a class to transfer back to their primary college, or just need a course for personal interest, only need to submit an application for admission. MCC refers to these students as “Guests.”
Students currently enrolled in high school should have a 6th or 7th semester transcript sent and arrange to have a final transcript sent following graduation.
A transcript from each college previously attended (if any) must be provided. These must be official, with college seal, sent directly from the college. It will be evaluated to see if any of the coursework will transfer into MCC.
What are these? ACT, COMPASS or ASSET scores are used for placement in classes; they are NOT admissions tests. ACT scores are not required for admission but may be submitted in place of taking MCC’s COMPASS test.
In many instances, high schools make a record of ACT scores and the scores are part of the high school transcript (applicants should check with the high schools to see if this is the case). If the scores are not available from the high school, they may be obtained by addressing a request to the ACT Records Department, PO Box 451, Iowa City, IA 52240, and paying a fee to ACT. Score results need to be within the last 5 years.
The COMPASS test is offered through MCC’s Career and Employment Center.
