| Marshalltown High School graduate |
| Liberal Arts Major |

Why did you choose MCC? The main reason I chose MCC was because it's close to my house. Living in Marshalltown really helps save money on housing and gas. I also chose MCC because it is smaller than a university, so it's easier to get to know your instructors and get help with things. |
|
What do you like best about MCC? So far my favorite part about MCC is the sizes of my classes. It's easier to make friends when there is only so many people in your classes. |
|
What do you like best about your major/area of study? The good thing about a liberal arts major is that you can explore your options while getting your general education done. I would like to be either an Art Education major or a Psychology major, so being able to take classes in both areas is helping me decide. |

Advice for college-bound students: You don't have to be 100% "sure" what you want to do. Explore your options. What's great about a smaller community college is that you can take different classes and still be getting all the credits you need. Another piece of advice is you'll never know until you try. Get involved and most important, have fun! |

Family: two sisters, one brother, two step-siblings, cat and golden retriever Hobbies: I danced for about 12 years. I love to paint, draw, and do anything that has to do with art. I also love to watch movies. I work at Hy-Vee. Involvement/jobs at MCC: Student ambassador and I work in the Financial Aid office at MCC. I would love to get involved in theater at MCC also. |
| Transfer plans: I plan to transfer to UNI after MCC to major in either Art Education or Psychology. |
