A new kind of farmer is looking beyond corn and soybean fields. Farmers trained in the practices of sustainable agriculture can take advantage of emerging markets in local and specialty agricultural products by using entrepreneurial business and niche marketing skills. Sustainable agriculture is economically profitable, ecologically sound, and community-based.
Demand for specialty and locally grown vegetables, fruit, grain, livestock, and related agricultural products have increased in recent years.
Gainful employment reporting (Certificate)
Beginning July 1, 2011, the U.S. Department of Education began requiring colleges to disclose a variety of information for any financial aid eligible certification program that “prepares students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation.” The information provided here represents only one year’s data but will be updated as more information becomes available.
There were no program completers FY13 in MCC’s Entrepreneurial & Diversified Ag certificate program.
