Law
Career
People working in law like to work with other people; can win the respect of their clients, associates, and the public; and have perseverance, creativity and reasoning abilities. They can analyze complex cases and handle new and unique legal problems. Besides lawyers, other jobs include legal assistants and paralegals, who are increasingly performing legal tasks carried out by lawyers.
Job outlook
Employment is expected to grow about as fast as average for all occupations through 2016. Demand for lawyers will result from growth in the population and in the general level of business activities. Competition for job openings will be intense because of the increasing number of students graduating from law schools each year. Paralegal positions are projected to grow faster than average but stiff competition is expected.
