Other training options
Education starts at different places for different people. Marshalltown Community College and Iowa Valley Grinnell partner with Iowa Valley Continuing Education/IVCE to offer these other training and education options for students:
High School Completion/GED
GED tests are administered every Tuesday in room 512 from 8 am to 4:30 pm; special arrangements at other times can also be made. Pre-testing is required before testing. This is done in the Education and Training Center located downtown at 206 E. Church St, Marshalltown. There is no cost for the pre-tests. There is a $10/quarter administrative fee for instruction; the final GED exams cost $100.
English as a Second Language/ESL
English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for persons from any country or culture. ESL class times for the Education and Training Center to be Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. -noon; Monday and Thursday 5:30 to 8 pm.
