Applications for all scholarships are available online or in MCC's Financial Aid Office. Unless noted otherwise, the priority deadline for scholarship applications is March 1st. All MCC Foundation scholarships require that a student must meet the following criteria:

1. Be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more per semester) unless otherwise noted in the individual scholarship requirements. GPA requirements listed are minimums.

2. File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid/FAFSA form each year. Students without a Social Security number please complete the Federal EFC Forecaster and contact Joan Jaimes for further instructions.

3. File an MCC Scholarship Application form each year. Note that some scholarships have additional application forms.

MCC Foundation Scholarships

• AGC of Iowa Foundation – Harold & Mercedes Cessford Memorial to a student enrolled in the Construction Technology program. U.S. citizen, $1,000 scholarship.

• Advanced Horizons-Alta & Herman Bollhoefer – Enrolled fulltime in Teacher Education or Agriculture (first considerations); 2.8 GPA; financial need but not full federal assistance; U.S. citizen; 2 @ $1196 scholarships.

• AgVenture - Enrolled fulltime in Entrepreneurial & Diversified Ag program or studying for AA transfer degree to a 4-year Ag program; 1st choice to a West Marshall graduating senior, 2nd choice to a graduating senior from any other Marshall County high school, 3rd choice to a graduating senior from a contiguous county high school; 2.2 GPA and maintain to keep the scholarship; participated in extracurricular high school activities; from a family with a Christian background; financial need but not full federal aid; U.S. citizen; 2 @ $2,966 scholarships.

• American Association of University Women – Adult female pursuing four-year degree; financial need considered, U.S. citizen. $744 scholarship.

• Dale & Marilyn Andrews Business – MHS graduate majoring in Accounting, U.S. citizen. $500 scholarship awarded in fall semester.

• William M. Andrews Memorial – Marshall County resident; accepted and enrolled in the Practical Nursing or Associate Degree Nursing program (1st) or Education (2nd); 3.0 GPA; financial need but not full PELL. $500.

• John Apgar Memorial – IVCCD resident; financial need considered, U.S. citizen. $100 scholarship.

• Assistance League of Marshalltown – Returning adult female student; financial need considered, U.S. citizen. $1,000 scholarship.

• Atkinson Foundation for Academic/Athletic Excellence – Returning MCC men's basketball player with highest GPA, U.S. citizen. $350 scholarship.

• Shelly Baker Memorial Art – Sophomore Art major; 3.5 GPA; financial need but not full Federal aid; submit to MCC Art instructor a piece of art work with written essay of 50 words or less stating what impact your artwork would have on the world, U.S. citizen. $400 scholarship.

• Dale & Joan Ballard – Marshall Co. or adjoining county high school graduate; sophomore status at MCC; Engineering, Education or Science major; U.S. citizen, financial need but not full Federal Aid. $1000 scholarship.

• Alma Beaverlander Memorial Nursing – PN or ADN student, U.S. citizen. $750 scholarship.

• *Inez Black Memorial – Sophomore student in Teacher Education or Diversified Ag with plans to pursue a 4-year degree; financial need but not full PELL; relatives of former students of Inez when she taught 6th grade at Albion from 1964-1979 are especially encouraged to apply (note the name of the relative and year they had Mrs. Black as a teacher on MCC’s Scholarship application’s second page under “reason for applying for the scholarship” 2 @ $500.

• B’nai B’rith – Jerome H. Rovner Lodge #1504 – MHS graduate; 3.0 GPA, U.S. citizen. $650 scholarship.

• David Jensen Brintnall Memorial – MCC sophomore who is an MHS graduate; Education major; 2.8 GPA; U.S. citizen. $632 scholarship.

• Keith & Ada Brown Family Athletic – Men’s or Women’s Basketball player; U.S. citizen, 2.0 GPA; 1 @$1000.

• Dale & Florence Boten Davis Memorial – Sophomore status, MCC student planning to pursue a 4-year degree; studying History/Western Civilization or Science/Chemistry or Physics; U.S. citizen, 3.0 GPA; financial need but not full Federal Aid. 2 @ $1326 scholarships.

• Delta Kappa Gamma - Psi Chapter – Female MCC sophomore, Education major, 2.70 GPA, U.S. citizen. 2 @ $133.

• Dorothy Robeson Memorial Scholarship – Awarded to a female South Tama County High graduate with financial need. $500.

• Dougherty-Poole-Thompson Families – MHS graduate, MCC sophomore, 3.0 GPA, financial need considered, U.S. citizen. $414 scholarship.

• *Chris & Brenda Duree – Iowa Valley Community College District graduate, first generation, foreign born, pursuing first AA/AS/Diploma at MCC; financial need but not qualified for federal assistance or state student aid; 2.5 GPA. $750 scholarship.

• Fisher Controls-Industrial Technology – Student enrolled in Industrial Technology program, financial need considered. 10 @ $500 scholarships: 5 for incoming freshmen and 5 for sophomores.

• Rebecca Hauser Memorial – Single parent encouraged to apply, financial need but not full Federal Aid, U.S. citizen. $1,000 scholarship.

• Janice Heiberger Davis Memorial – PN or ADN student, lives within 40 miles of MCC campus, 2.0 GPA, U.S. citizen, financial need considered, single parent encouraged to apply. $968 scholarship.

• Douglas A. Hensley Memorial - Full-time sophomore student involved in Drama program. 3.0 GPA, U.S. citizen, Financial need but not full federal aid. Must complete MCC's General Scholarship application and indicate they're involved in a Drama program, $500 scholarship.

• Home Federal Savings Bank – Marshall County resident, financial need considered but not full Federal Aid. May be non U.S. citizen. 1 @ $500.

• Phyllis Perry Hulton Educational Trust – Marshall County high school graduate, U.S. citizen. Application due April 2. There are two applications; one for those who have attended college or technical school and the other for high school seniors. Please use the appropriate application form below for your situation.

• Legion of Guardsmen – Enrolled fulltime, students with family affiliated with Marshalltown Legion of Guardsmen will be considered first then other students with Armed Forces or National Guard affiliation; provide name of family member on the MCC application and note that it is for Legion of Guardsmen Scholarship. • Robert Ottilie Memorial - Full-time student who wishes to complete a degree at MCC and follow a career in production agriculture or complete a degree at MCC and transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in ag and pursue a degree in production agriculture. This scholarship is for a student who wants to pursue a degree in agriculture and return to the farm. 2.67 (B-) GPA to qualify for and keep the scholarship. U.S. citizen. • Roskopf-Williams Academic – Marshall County high school  grad, full-time student, 3.0 GPA, financial need but not full Federal Aid, U.S. citizen. 20 @ $1,000 scholarships.

• Rich & Diane Rozell Memorial – MCC Men’s Basketball team member, Teacher Education or Math major, 2.0 GPA, U.S. citizen, apply to renew sophomore year. $1386 scholarship.

• Hubert & Edna Schrodt Memorial – Iowa resident, full-time student, 2.33 GPA, U.S. citizen; 2 @ $1000 scholarships.

• Ronald Sheneman Family Scholarships – Three $100 scholarships to be selected by the faculty in the Machine/Tool & Die, Construction Technology and Welding programs–one to each program. Financial need, but not full federal assistance.

• Silver Spectrum Drum & Bugle Corps – Full-time sophomore (28 credit hrs. or more; Fine Arts Major in Art, or Drama, this coming fall; pursing a 4-year degree in Fine Arts; Marshall County or surrounding county High School graduate; 2.33 minimum cumulative GPA, U.S. citizen; 2 @ $1,500  Silver Spectrum Drum & Bugle Corps Scholarship application form (pdf).

• TTT Society - Iowa DA Chapter – Academic ability, financial need but not full Federal Aid, U.S. citizen. $1000 scholarship.

• *Martha-Ellen Tye Academic – 5 MHS seniors and 5 MCC sophomores, academic ability, financial need but not full Federal Aid. May be a non U.S. citizen. 10 @ $500 scholarships.

• *Martha-Ellen Tye First Generation – Student from family where neither parent has a college degree; may be a non U.S. citizen. 10 @ $500 scholarships (5 to incoming MHS freshmen and 5 to returning sophomores).

Warrington Memorial – Student majoring in Agriculture or Nursing, Marshall County high school graduate, U.S. citizen, 2.2 GPA, renewable for 4 semesters at MCC and 4 semesters at an Iowa 4-year college or university. 10 @ $2000 scholarships. • Wells-Fargo Bank – MCC sophomore, area high school graduate, 2.33-3.33 GPA, financial need but not full Federal Aid, U.S. citizen. $500 scholarship.

MCC General Scholarships

• IVCCD Director’s Scholarships – Awarded to high school valedictorians or salutatorians who will enroll full-time at MCC. (Amounts vary.)

• MCC ACT-Based Scholarships – Awarded to MCC freshmen with minimum ACT composite scores of 25. (Amounts vary.)

• MCC Academic Division Scholarships – Recipients selected based on academic ability. (Amounts vary.)

• Return 2 Learning Scholarships – Available to students who are at least 25 years of age or older and have not been enrolled at ECC/MCC for at least five years. The scholarship includes tuition for three credit hours during the student's first term of enrollment. Students are responsible for fees and textbooks. The student will not be eligible for this scholarship if s/he is receiving tuition reimbursement from an employer. (Amounts vary.)

• Senior Citizen Scholarships – Available to senior citizens age 65+ to cover tuition for credit courses. Students are responsible for fees and textbooks. (Amounts vary.)

• IDEA Scholarship – Iowa Developmental Education Association scholarship is available to students who complete two developmental courses or participate in at least two developmental programs such as math, writing, reading, ESL, or study skills. Must maintain a 3.0 GPA, and plan to enroll in or continue enrollment in a postsecondary educational institution during the next academic year. Scholarship up to $500. Click here for application.

In addition, many MCC students receive scholarships awarded by their high schools, by professional and fraternal organizations they are affiliated with, or through other academic sources. These scholarships are not administered by the Foundation, but are accepted and credited to student accounts.

A non-resident tuition waiver is available to non-residents. Inquire at MCC Admissions Office or 641-844-5712. The current amount is $750, subject to change with tuition rates.

• James Warren & Helen Ruth Pattie Memorial – Current MCC graduate who is admitted and enrolled full-time as a junior at an accredited Iowa college/university and who is seeking a 4-year degree; Marshall County high school graduate; 2.8 GPA; financial need but not full Federal Aid; Click here for application, U.S. citizen. $1,500 scholarship (for a 2012 MCC graduate).
