Scholarships for Marshalltown Community College
The MCC Foundation, incorporated in 1966, is one of the oldest community college foundations in Iowa. It is a non-profit organization operated separately from Marshalltown Community College, but managed on behalf of the needs of students, faculty and staff at MCC. It receives and maintains funds used for providing scholarships to deserving students at the college. Awards are made by the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors, upon recommendation of the MCC Scholarship Committee. The Foundation also provides funds for the purchase of equipment, departmental projects, and library needs and acquisitions at MCC.
The MCC Foundation Executive Director also serves as the college's Alumni Director. The Alumni Office publishes fall and spring editions of "Transcript," a newsletter for MCC alumni (those for whom current addresses are available) and also maintains alumni records.
Applications for all Foundation-funded scholarships are available online or in MCC's Financial Aid Office. Unless noted otherwise, the priority deadline for scholarship applications is March 1st. All MCC Foundation scholarships require that a student must meet the following criteria:
1) Be enrolled full-time (12 credit hours or more per semester) unless otherwise noted in the individual scholarship requirements. GPA requirements listed are minimums.
2) File a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form each year. Students without a Social Security number please complete the Federal EFC Forecaster and contact Joan Jaimes for further instructions.
