Tigers Score 2-1 Road Win
Bettendorf, IA – The MCC Men’s soccer team had ten shots on goal, but were only able to come up with one score in the first half against Scott Community College. Sophomore Bruno Liozzi (Sao Paolo, Brazil) scored on a penalty kick 31 minutes into play. The lead didn’t last long as the Eagles answered with a goal of their own two minutes later to tie the match.
The Tigers regained the lead on the strength of a 58th-minute goal by freshmen Alex Bello (Saukville, WI), assisted by sophomore Joao de Olivera (Sao Paolo, Brazil). The goal would end up being the loan goal of the second half and give the Tigers a 2-1 decision. The Tigers controlled the match outshooting the Eagles 17 to 1.
MCC improves to (7-3-1, 5-2) on the season, while the Eagles drop to (2-9-1, 0-7-1). MCC currently stands in third position in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference. The Tigers return to conference action Wednesday, October 3rd, traveling to Mason City, IA taking on the Trojans of North Iowa Area Community College.
