Welcome to MCC Residence Life & Housing
Welcome! Residence Life and Housing strives at developing the personal, social and academic
life of each residential student and opportunities for all on-campus students to become an integral part of MCC’s residential community. The residence life team strives to provide residents a comfortable, educational, diverse, and caring community where academic success, personal growth, and social responsibility are valued.
Through all of these efforts, MCC’s three residential complexes are more than "places to live," they are hubs for educational living and learning in which all residential students are encouraged to develop and participate in programming and community interactions that are beneficial for their personal development and the greater Marshalltown Community.

| Move In – Sophomores | Check in 8:30 am – 12 pm, August 24, 2012 |
| Residential Orientation | Thursday, August 23 – Saturday, August 25 Required for all Residential Students Schedule will be included in assignment letter |
| Thanksgiving Recess | Complexes close 5 pm, November 20, 2012 Complexes open 12 pm, November 25, 2012 |
| Winter Recess* | Complexes close 5 pm, December 13, 2012 Complexes open 12 pm, January 13, 2013 |
| Spring Recess | Complexes close 5 pm, March 15, 2013 Complexes open 12 pm, March 24, 2013 |
| Summer Closing* | Complexes close on Thursday, May 9, at 5 pm |
| * Specific closing expectations for residential students during breaks when the residential complexes close will be e-mailed to residents approximately two weeks before closing. Information will also be posted on each resident's door and communicated to them by their Resident Assistant. | |
| **Residential Students must make other arrangements when the residential complexes are closed for recesses. Students must see their Residence Life staff member with questions regarding closures expectations. | |
