Head Coach: Alison LaceyAlison Lacey is beginning her first season as the head MCC women's basketball coach. Lacey concluded her career at Iowa State University as the only player in school history and only the seventh player in the history of the Big 12 Conference to record 1,500 points, 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a career. She is the highest WNBA draft pick in school history after being chosen 10th by the Seattle Storm in 2010; Seattle went on to win the 2010 WNBA Championship. Lacey became just the second Cyclone in school history to record a triple-double, posting 19 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds in the win over Iowa, which resulted in Big 12 Player of the Week accolades. She was a part of four NCAA Championship appearances by the Cyclones, and part of the third winningest senior class in school history by victories with 99. Lacey led the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio for the majority of the campaign and ranked second (3.0) to end the 2010 season. She also ranked ninth in NCAA Division I assists with 6.2 per contest, scored in double figures 25 times, ranked ninth in Big 12 scoring with 15.8 points per contest, was a unanimous pick by league coaches to the All-Big 12 First Team, and was a finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award for the nation’s top point guard and an All-America honorable-mention pick by The Associated Press and the WBCA. |
