Choose your topic. The assignment for Module 9 is to write a proposal on the subject, purpose, and plan for writing your final report. Look over the five topic suggestions submitted for the last module and choose the one that interests you the most.

What is a proposal? Think of a proposal as a plan. For example, when a contractor submits a bid for work, he or she writes a plan for the work, materials, costs, and timeframe for completion of the project. Likewise, in your proposal, you will submit your plan for your final project.

Review the samples throughout chapter 14 to understand the purpose and form of proposals. Pay particular attention to the sample student proposal, starting on page 397. This proposal has enough depth of content and the format to be considered a full report. Your proposal will be much briefer; you will simply propose to write the final report.

Write your proposal for the final report.  I have provided two documents to help you write your proposal.

See "Formal Proposal Contents" for advice on how to organize your proposal. Then go to "Sample Student Proposal" to view a sample.
